Description

 

The California Department of Water Resources (DWR) Water-Energy Grant Program uses Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund monies to support water and energy efficiency projects that reduce greenhouse gases. It awards a total of $19 million, with individual awards of up to $3 million to commercial and disadvantaged residential communities for retrofit projects, which simultaneously increase water conservation and energy efficiency. In the 2016 grant cycle, Proteus, Inc. received $3 million to implement the Billion Gallon Challenge that provided direct installation of new efficient shower heads, faucet aerators and washers in Fresno and Kings Counties.
